“From Double Fine productions and 90,000 of their closest friends.”
Double Fine has finally released the first trailer for Broken Age, its crowd funded point-and-click adventure game, previously known as Double Fine Adventure.
Broken Age tells the story of a young boy and girl living worlds apart, who wish to break away from the paths their lives are set on. The girl, desperately trying to avoid being offered as a sacrifice to a monster plaguing her village while the boy wishes to leave the isolation of space. Players will be able to switch between the two characters throughout the adventure.
Broken Age is Tim Schafer’s first foray into the point-and-click adventure genre since Grim Fandango in 1988. The game still stands as one of the most successful KickStarter projects to date; when funding began back in February 2012, gamer’s quickly smashed the original $400,000 Double Fine asked for, bringing in over $3.5 million in under a month.
Broken Age is set to launch on PC, Mac, Linux, iOS and, as a console exclusive, Ouya when it is released later in 2013.
